Fashion & Arts Xchange Group Inc. is excited to announce its 2nd Annual Juneteenth, “The Future is Now” Fashion & Arts Career Expo, to be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 12noon to 8pm at FIT, The Grand Hall 27th and 7th Ave New York, NY.

Juneteenth, “The Future is Now” Fashion & Arts Career Expo is a public event designed to help expose, promote, and advance young and matured talents and businesses in fashion and arts industries. We are looking for successful companies to partner with that has a heart for helping others, showing the necessary support through obstacles faced, and taking someone by the hand and guiding them through a path that leads to achieving their ultimate goals in life and great success. These goals are met by gaining exposure, experience, and promotional support, which is our mission for this event. We see these qualities in your company, and we invite you to join Fashion & Arts Xchange Group Inc in our mission to help small businesses, models, fashion designers, make-up artists, hairstylists, and other professionals in this sector to obtain their personal goals.

Your contributions will allow Fashion & Arts Xchange Group Inc, a 16 year old 501C organization to develop and produce quality events such as this one. Your business will benefit from the synergy generated by “The Future is Now” and the industry recognition obtained from your support in this endeavor.

Making Black History 2009

If yesterday's news is today's history, then history was made last week as the Fashion Arts Xchange group http://friendsoffax.ning.com presented a tribute to "Designing Men-Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow". It featured segments on three extraordinary Black designers representing a continuum of fashion from the sixties to the present. Jon Haggins kicked it off and was followed by Edward Wilkerson of Lafayette 148(in absentia), as well as Mychael Knight of "Project Runway fame. Knight, who was feted in a sincere and moving offering from Harlem's own"TopModel"-the lovely Miss Bree Dean, is a resident of Atlanta and made it just in the nick of time despite two flight cancellations. The Black fashion component of the show, was held as part of F.I.T's February slate of events presented by the College's Miss Deborah Payton-Jones, and was conceived and developed by the F.A.X. http://friendsoffax.ning.com/ group's Founder / Chair Gwenveria Sargeant.The F.A.X.organization has been hosting similar events since 1994.
